Born in Mosalipadu, India, Dr. Usha R. Kurra graduated with her Master's from Guntur Medical College in 1989. Afterwards, she began an internship with the Government General Hospital in Guntur, A.P. India. After moving to the United States in the in the 1990s with her husband, Dr. Pill G. Raja, Dr. Kurra completed her residency training at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York City where she worked from July 1993 to June 1996.
In August of 1997, she received her license to practice in the state of Texas and began her work at the Permian Women's Center in Odessa, TX. Her professional memberships include American College of Internal Medicine, ACP American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association.
